History
JAZO was established in 1961 by the grandfather of the current managing director Axel Jansen. Jan Jansen senior founded a one-man business from his ambition to build up a company in the metalworking with modern production equipment.
Jansen senior started his company with little capital, simple tools and limited working space. His huge efforts and enormous professional knowledge ensured that his company turned into a fine profitable concern within two years.
Many employees joined the company as well as two of his sons; in 1973 the company became a private company with limited liability. By that time they had moved into a spacious workroom complex in Zevenaar (NL), with continued state-of-the-art machinery.
A great group of professionals who were almost all trained inside the company took care of an excellent product. The organization leaned mainly on making solid mutual agreements that were always met properly. Once JAZO set up and staffed its own drawing office, increasingly larger projects could be taken on.
Professional skills and capacity were no longer emphasized exclusively; organization and planning also came into the picture. In 1983 three operating companies were established, all residing at Handelsdwarsstraat 6 in Zevenaar (NL), with diverse activities:
- JAZO Zevenaar B.V.: sheet-metal work and constructional work (196)
- JAZO Ovenbouw B.V.: production and sales of bakery ovens (1983)
- Allac Zevenaar B.V.: industrial paintwork and powder coating (1978)
The computer made its appearance in 1985, and since 1988 most of the business operations have been done using this tool. Thanks to which they were able to meet the increasing customer demands as far as execution, reliability, durability and delivery times are concerned.
A quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 (JAZO has been certified since 1998) was set up and introduced, guaranteeing continuity for the future with the following advantages:
- Customers are assured of a good and reliable product that can be delivered on time.
- JAZO can present its goods and services at competitive prices on the market, at controllable costs.
JAZO Ovenbouw B.V. split off as a totally independent business in 1995, while Allac Zevenaar B.V. joined JAZO at the same time as the coating department.
Mr. Jan Jansen junior has been director from 1965 up to the present day. His son Axel Jansen has taken over the company in 2006.
A lot has changed over the past 50 years. The company has grown enormously: from 3 people in 1961 to around 90 enthusiastic professionals now.
The machines at the disposal of the JAZO employees have moved with the times: the machinery is up to date and is continually adapted to the latest developments in the field.
Professional skills and continual improvement have always characterized JAZO and still do, as does our urge to find new products and discover new challenges. Up to date training is essential for us to continue to satisfy these wishes; that’s why the JAZO employees receive regular extra training.
